What Customers Say About Communist Manifesto and Social Contract (Audio Classics Series):

It is not very long, and it is not very hard to read. There is enough within the actual doctrine of communism with which you may disagree without having to run around in the streets attacking straw men.Not to mention, this book is surprisingly short. Only the slovenly intellectual mind can refuse to read such a pithy book that has had such a profound impact on human thought. While I am not swayed by Marx's historical perspective, nor am I swayed by his prescription for how to solve what I believe to be an overblown, if not altogether nonexistent, problem, I think that this is an important book that every American should read. Unfortunately, the last people to read this book are the ones who should read it the most.Conservatives who march around calling Obama a socialist or a communist really should at least take the time and make the effort to understand the system that they criticize.

It seems to me that it was more aimed at mobilizing the middle/lower classes to overthrow the upper class rather than have an intellectual discussion and analysis of communistic type systems. This is text is definitely a must read but it was not at all what I was expecting it to be. The text itself is only about 40 pages long and very repetitive.

But I also don't believe that any one man can envision Utopia all by himself, and Karl Marx had some solid ideas which could indeed contribute to a overall better world ideal. Am I a Communist. No. Today, communism has been given a negative rap, and is even used as an insult. Definitely not a book to be missed at all. Despite what people today have done to Communism, Mr. While I might not agree with every idea within Communism, this book was still a fascinating and interesting read. Marx had some brilliant ideas in here that in the right hands, could be applied to good use.

People who are greedy and people who are thin. Communism is as dead as his beard, and for a capitalist scumbag that he is, he has done quite well for himself as a do-gooder 'communist'.I don't buy it. In life there are people who are rich and people who are poor. People who are foreign and people who are American. Karl Marx could have made a fortune in the film industry with his brothers.

People who are drunk and people who are sober. The bottom line is that people are different and most successes are on the back of another persons misfortune. People who are clever and people who are stupid. Karl Marx, whilst preaching the virtues of everybody having nothing, quietly made an absolute fortune from this poor mans bible. This book lodges stupid ideas in the brains of weak minded revolutionary types who think that a shared suffering is better than a system that benefits a few based not on talent or some sort of reward for hard work but how you look or what meat you eat.His offspring, Richard Marx makes a fortune writing cheesey pop ballads too. People who are misguided and people who are lost. People who are conspiracy nuts and people who are religious.

Instead he decided to capitalise upon his crazy idea that people should all be equal. People who are nice and people who are nasty. People who are tanned and people who are pale. This is nonsense. People who are religious and people who are intelligent. People who are communist and people who are sensible.

People who are tall and people who are short. People who are heavy and people who are slight.

These prefaces really give a good feel for what to expect in the material to follow. There are many editions of The Communist Manifesto by Marx and Engels in print around the world, but this is one of the best. If you have ever wanted to know what communism truly is from the minds of Marx and Engles, then this is the edition to read. The material itself is rather famous (or infamous depending on who you ask), and it is presented clearly and concisely. The introduction is very solid and puts you in the right frame of mind. This is followed by various prefaces to the various editions written by Marx and Engels throughout the nineteenth century.
